Mounted Drill Team Competition and Open Versatility Contest
The Georgia Horse Council is very excited to be offering our fourth sanctioned Mounted Drill Team Competition and the second Open Versatility Contest! The Mounted Drill Team Competition will take place Saturday October 11, 2008 at the Murray County Saddle Club, 560 Hwy 52 East in Chatsworth, GA. Attached you will find the entry forms and the rules for this event. You will need to purchase the United States Equestrian Drill Association (USEDA) manual in order to have ALL the rules for each class. Please go to http://useda.us to order your manual. Please also note that we have changed our fees. Fees are less if you are a GHC member. Each team can join as an Association for $50.00. You may go to our website (www.georgiahorsecouncil.com) to download GHC Membership applications. The Versatility Contest will be held Sunday October 12, 2008. Attached you will find the entry form and rules for this event.
Registration and check-in will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 10. No horses will be stalled prior to 2:00 PM, Friday, October 10. Please have your current negative Coggins certificate. A sign-up sheet for practice times on Friday, October 10 in the arena will be available at registration. Music and introduction must be turned in by 8:30 AM Saturday, October 11 to the Georgia Horse Council registration table. Introduction must be typed and double spaced (no hand written introductions will be accepted, 3 points will be deducted from your score if introduction is not typed). If not turned in by 8:30 AM, your team will be penalized 3 points. An announcer will be available. We will allow one person from the team to be present in the announcer booth during the introduction of your team. The Opening Ceremony will start at 9:30 AM sharp.
Please pay close attention to the Information Sheet . There are New Rules for the music that must be followed. Also, you should fill out an entry form for each team you have entered. For each team that has a different name, you will need to pay the office fee. If you only have one team with the same name that is entering several classes, you will only need to pay the office fee one time.
